Office Work Song

The silence is all around,
Stroking of my keyboard is the only sound,
My computer screen is shining bright
Not A single colleague on my sight.

My watch "ticks-ticks" showing me the time,
Working late is a personal crime,
you should party, your age is prime,
But what to do, the job gets me dime.

Morning early, I cant wake,
Driving fast in traffic, the risk I take,
Running huffing, I reach my desk,
Programming for someone, the money I make.

The boss tells me to do this and that,
But my computer and I do electronic chat.
The lazy sun comes settling slowly down,
All day on chair, stiffs body, from leg to crown.

As day ends, phone rings, there is an issue,
A physician is on fire, ready to rip my bone and tissue,
An application you wrote, just broke she shouts,
More words from her fell on me, like bolts from clouds.

She hung the phone on me, before I can explain,
Its not me,but someone else in the IT chain.
But matter has gone to management, up and high,
They told me- work late, fix it or your career die.

So, here I am, working late,
Neither any manager nor team mate,
Today my work day is long and long,
So I writing a workaholic song.
